EU & Competition issues advice on participation in Continuous Radio Audience Survey
Our EU & Competition team has advised the Radio Advies Bureau (RAB) following an enquiry by the Netherlands Competition Authority.
The case involved participation in the Continuous Radio Audience Survey Continu LuisterOnderzoek (CLO – a national survey of radio listener audiences, being carried out by Intomart under RAB’s instructions). Regional radio broadcaster WildFM had complained to the Competition Authority that, despite the fact that its audience is strictly regional, its participation in the survey would be on terms equal to those for other (national) participants. However, following proposed amendments to the terms of participation, the Competition Authority has decided to halt the enquiry.
